At the Toronto Public Library, the running of third-party EXEs from the Windows Explorer is disabled on their Windows 7 computers. The "Run" box and the Command Prompt are disabled too. My end goal is to try to get Among Us, Plants vs. Zombies or any other standalone EXE game that does not require installation to run on the computer. Ever I since I (and many other kids) were little, we all wanted to know how to run any standalone game on the library computer, and I want to finally solve that mystery once and for all. However, the running of Java .jar files and VBA macros in MS Word is allowed, and that is why there are often groups of kids playing Minecraft at the library. First, I tried opening the EXE the "normal way", but only the "This file came from the Internet. Do you want to run this program?" box came up, and clicking "Run" in the box has no effect. I tried writing this VBA macro and this Java program to try and execute an arbitrary EXE file, but after I selected my file, nothing happened. (However, it worked on my home computer.) Is there any other way I can try and get my EXE to run on the computer? Thanks!
